First MOT coming up

My 172 is due its first MOT in the next couple of months. Just wondered if by other peoples experience there anything that might be worth checking before it goes in?

I'm going to be fitting new pads all round before it goes in and the tyres will still be fairly new but are there any common problems people have had other than that. Oh yeah, its only done 15,700 miles so not many really but my pads definately need replacing and i'm on my 2nd set of front tyres so its been driven enthusiastically for those miles.

should be fine, put new pads on and tightened the hanbrake before my mot. passed with flying colours. new tyres too.

worry when you get to the third MOT.... lol

i personally wouldnt tighten up the handbrake for the mot. If its got discs, change the pads. If drums, check and clean them. If the handbrake is well out, adjust the adjusters on the shoes (normally seize so dont adjust automatically as they should).
