First Real "Push" On The New Springs

  Saab 93 Aero Wagon
Thought i'd take the Cup down my own personal proving ground tonight.....well its really just a nice and varied 3 mile country road (with a decent surface!), as i haven't really pushed the car since i fitted the Pro's on Tuesday.
I have to say im very impressed.
The car seems to generate alot more grip from the front end and it generally feels much sharper than it did standard.
Body roll is less, and it doesn't wash wide like it did when pushed hard round longer tightening corners so overall im pleased with the change.

Only slight concern is that maybe the rear springs aren't quite seated properly as the rear seems a touch high to me but then it may just be my eyes playing tricks.
Heres a few pics...

Taken literally 10 mins after the car was put back on the ground....

And tonight after the run. Anyone else think its slightly high or is that how they sit on Pro's?

Whats the height from centre of wheel to arch lip (straight up)?

Does look a little high but hard to tell.

Not sure, i haven't done any measuring. I'll have a go tomo.

I was wondering if someone was gonna pick up on it being stupidly clean under there! :D

Mate im sure if you lose the rear headrests and the engine cover your's will be just as light and therefore rapid as mine! ;)

The new springs do feel good though....sexual infact :approve:

i thought springs took about a month to settle, you may that it drops a little with time.

Sportlines are the way forward. Give a better ride height than Prolines.

But anyway, give them about a month to settle. Then get the tracking done. By then it may sit a little better for you...

Didn't fancy Sportlines. Yeah they lower it and all that shizzle which is great if you are part of the "its gotta be lowered!" gang but its not what i was after....and i didn't want to start changing dampers.

Personally im pleased with the results its given and the car feels back to its best again, and i like i haven't jumped on the "lowered" bandwagon.

Nosluom- I'll get you a pic as soon as. If, as expected, its still to drop then you may find its not a pic of it in its final resting position as its only a few days since i changed them.

told you they a VERY good set up, and i seem to remember mine sitting slightly higher at the rear than on the standard set up..... but the front sits alot better imo. It'll settle a tad ;)

  Weeman sucks ****
doubt it'll settle much on a cup. cups are different than std 172's for some reason. even the apex sit higher than the std 172/182's.
