First Vista-only PC game?

Having a mooch last weekend at some PC titles and came across Shadowrun on the shelf. The tech specs said it needed Windows Vista and a dual-core CPU.

Is this the first, or have there been other games that have snubbed XP before it?

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Bit stupid init considering most people are still running xp.

DX10 contained too many significant updates to put into an XP service pack (allegedly), and it probably uses this or Vista's integration into Live for it's online play.

Hence why it doesn't run on XP. Yours or anyone else's lack of desire to upgrade isn't the software developer's problem.

I was thinking about upgrading to vista however it came out worse for playing games on than xp when toms hardware tested it so i changed my mind.

All hardcore gamers will soon be going Vista though for DX10.

Not me for a while yet, As much as I'm raring to have a crack at Crysis which looks amazing and is a step forward, I've not seen enough difference between DX9 and DX10 in several large articles doing the rounds on the net in terms of Crysis alone

Not enough for me to justify spending £lots on upgrading, theres also no guarantees that the GTS320Mb version will really cut it in the performance stakes and some techy sites still aren't 100% convinced that any current DX10 card will allow smooth gameplay at 1600x1200 with AA/AF maxed out and all the eye candy maxed out

I'd also want to wait until the inevitable Crysis 1st patch rolls out and also at least 1 revision of graphics drivers after either Nvidia/ATI have a mainsteam DX10 game to relate to

As much as I want Crysis to be a huge leap, after the hype surrounding the shambolic laughable mess which is STALKER, Think I'll play it DX9 to start with, see if it's a good game, keep an eye on the DX10 feedback and wait til after xmas before upgrading

Yep. For real. I meant 'soon' as in that it's inevitable. I'm planning TheMonolith build when Crysis hits the ground and we know more.

coudn't beliebe halo 2 was vista only, quite surprising, sure xp could have run it. still i love the fact they're hooking up pc games to xbox live, that way i can play games on my pc whilst still contributing to my gamerscore! haha sad.

Ye of course they couldn't integrate dx10 into xp.. i mean they managed with dx7 dx8 dx9.. but dx10.. no way.. not when we have put all that work into vista and want people to pay extorsionate amounts for something they don't want or need.
