Fitted Braided Lines Lost Feel??

  182 cup
Hi Guys,

I had a set of Goodridge lines fitted all round and i have lost feel in light braking. When you brake hard i can feel a big difference, is this common??
The guy that fitted the lines said the internal diameter of the braided lines were slightly smaller than the original lines. Is this right? could that be the reson for the loss of feel under light braking??

Any responses would be great,
Cheers guys,
Steve

I thought that so had them re-bleed the system, they said they have fully bled the system. Should i go to another dealer and get it done for a third time or could it be something else?

There will be less pedal travel with braided hoses as they dont expand as much when you brake. So they do take a little getting used to and you hardly have to touch the pedal for light braking. Had mine on a week and is just the same, used to it now though, but pulls up very well when you brake hard.

go out and fire off the ABS a few times, then get them redone

Hi Fred,

I did that before they re-bled the sytem, the guy that did it is tryin to say it is to do with the new lines having a slightly smaller diameter than the originals, is that a load of sh*t or a reasonable answer.

I am thinkin i might take it to another service place to get it re-bled

Cheers,
Steve

everything is stock except the lines and fluid (motul RB600), before getting the lines you would just have to tap the brakes and you would feel them bight now there is more travel in the pedal before that happens but when it does bight it bights alot harder.

Hey Fred,

Ok, so when braided lines are fitted everything should firm up including low speed breaking? I shouldn't get a squashy feel in the brake pedal at all even at low speeds and soft braking?? I just want to make sure im not wasting mony by getting the system re-bled

Thanks,
Steve

it won't be rock solid there wil be a slight amount of travel before you start headbutting the dash, as long as they're no leaks and its bled properly, you'll be fine
