fitting a splitter

  mk2 slow. . .
i have a mk2 ph2, and just purchased a laguna sport front splitter, with the vents, as im not a fond lover of the megane ones.

Just need to fit it! ...

so the question is whats the best way to fit one. i know i need to cut it to size to fit, and just bend/mould it round to fit the corners, but are self tapers the best to use? or anything else? Im thinking of using about 8 self tapers and then i have a small amount of no more nails tape that i may put in a few places. How does this sound?

all you need is about 6 self tappers mate, but the more the merrier. just get the splitter on exactly in the centre of the numper and start screwing it in towards the end of the bumper, the splitter is rubber so bends easily, once you have the best fit possible just hacksaw the excess away(infact the laguna one is to big to do that before you do it you will need to take off a chunk from each side so it fits behing the tyre to trim it neatly if you get what i mean, it took me about 20mins to fit it.

thats one thing im not doing taking the bumper off, as took it off bout 2 days ago to fit a new light, and cant be bothered with all tht fuss again. Am sure i can do it with it on the car and just jack the front end up

self tapping screws, screw them into the splitter but not all the way through, then push and screw hard into the plastic. its easyer to do with a mate
