I've got myself some Alpine speakers had them for a while now just been collecting dust, just need to do the front ones now. Been to a Audio shop today and asked for their advice he reken those speakers as above may or may not fit depending on the depth of the speaker and said that i will require a amp to give it more oumph for the type of speakers i've got, i've got a Alpine head unit CDA-9812RR and said will the head unit not be enough he said no.

Just want to know if he's right or not and fobbing me off

Cheers people

its all down to personal preference, ive never fitted an amp for myself, ive always found the standard power adequate however it does make a BIG difference

Will those speakers i've got be a direct fit no spacers, wont stick out or whatever and just sit nicely behind the plastic speaker cover? And also the tweeters what about them?

I'll think about a amp will any amp will do ie a 2 way one?

no spacers needed, you might find youll need to make the tweeters fit the original mountings by cutting the frame slightly bigger.
any 2 way would be an improvement but to get the best youll want around 100wrms
