Fitting cup racer handle spacer advice?

Fitting so cup racer spacers to my ph1 just wondering how I get the open leaver out of the old handle or don't you have to do you just fit the whole unit I'm confused

Whole unit unsrews from door

place it inside the spacer and bolt back on

sort of like egg in egg cup

Done it mate pretty simple really just me being dumb
