so the metal shim plates have to be removed? I have some brake imbalance up front and wonder if it's because no-one told me about removing the plates. I thought it was a caliper issue. Brakes do seem to bind a little bit too.
pads were filed down as I was advised to do this when I got the pads. Just no-one mentioned removal of shims. Wonder if too much filed off with shims removed, or not enough with shims in place?
Ok, will do cheers. Brakes work but just not totally evenly. I'll report back with my findings. Looking at selling the car and just want it right for whoever buys it. Thanks again. WOrst case, i'll stick new calipers and pads on the front. Discs are pretty new.
Funny about the shims. Prepped properly with adequate clearance, ive run ds2500s & now the pagid blacks on road & track with zero issues shimmed. Weird, guess my shims must be f**king magical.
mine squeal when hot but then again, they're a track pad so it's almost normal.
I binned the shims and filed them down though. Is there other "trick" in making them quiet?
