Fitting extra speakers?

  Clio 1.4RT
Just got a clio, and its great.
Hey, iv got a mk2, 1998 and i wanted to fit another pair of speakers in the car.
currently got alpine 13cm in the front and standard in the back.
Any ideas on how to wire up a set of 6x9's aswel, or shall i replace the stock speakers in the rear for the 6x9's on the shelf.
Is cutting involved, wot needs to be done to add 2 speakers?
plz help, thanks

Get a sub and amp wired up instead - better sound quality for around the same money :)

You'll need to cut template holes into your parcel shelf if you plan to do it that way. Make sure you align it all correctly and if you have a Jigsaw or know someone with one, it makes the job even easier. You can then screw the 6x9's into it.

Wiring is a bit trickier, try and tuck it under the side plastics and/or the upholstery, although again this is pretty hard, but it depends on how much wire you've got.

Wouldnt bother with 6x9s in the rear shelf, they do nothing that justifies the work to seal them up properly. Also they are a hazard in a crash, Imagine being hit on the back of the head by 20 kg of wood and metal. Having just braked and avoided a smash.
The bass box answer is the correct answer.
Best to anchor that to the rear crossmember in the boot for the same reasons.
Fit the best quality drivers in the front doors, change the tweeters in the dash, fit coaxials in the rear and a 10" Sub in a sealed enclosure facing to the rear. Drive it with 60-100 watt amp.

Sorry, didnt post very well,
Iv got alpine 6x9's anyway and wiring, just wondered if i cud get the front rear and 6x9's working at the same time, prob too much power for the HU to cope with... mayb. just replace the rears for the alpines may be ok, wot u fink.
oh yea the clio has holders for extra speakers alongside the shelf, cud an enclosure be made to hold these instead, or would it be worse sound. thanks for other posts.

your find you can probably run your 6x9s and standard rear speakers off of each other in parallel normally this results in a sacrifice of sq but will make it louder how good your h/u is will ultimately decide how good it sounds and weather it can cope or not;) (not sure about an oem unit mind)

jvc 4x45w, its decent but not the best. Parallel may b a bit difficult to do, not too familiar with the connectors needed. but thanks for sum great advice.
