fitting magnex decat to valver

hi ive got a magnex exhaust and ive just brough a secondhand magnex decat

how dose the big flangy bit on the decat sit on to the down pipe flange??

anyone shed any light

dont get ya?

to fit it its 4 bolts to undo then put on a new gasket either end or some RED gasket sealant then tighten em up

The flanges will go either way round

no on the magnex decat it has a wide opening on the downpipe side that stops the flange coming off of the pipe as the flange isnt fixed.

if you look at the magnex website at decats there is a pic of what i mean

Should be bolts on either end, one end turned 90 degrees to the other for the valver.

nope according to the magnex website i have the right one and the picture on their is the same as my one

ah yeah i saw that on the pic, im not sure but thats why i never bought it!!

maybe its like that for universal fitting, ie willy, valver and rsi, u might need an adpater??

Sorry mate, see what you mean. I got one that is just solid. Prob as ivegotta said, its to adapt to different models, i know the willy has a diferent angle clamp to the 16v on one end. should just bolt up.

Its a bit of a pissed up design mate, i had to do the following on mine:

For a start you need some RTV silicone to form the gasket seal between the flange and the manifold, also i found that the bolt holes didnt line up properly and were at a propper pissed up angle!

I ended up sloting the holes on my manifold flange to get the bolts parrallel, also use a fair amount of silicone on the joint.. as you tighten the de-cat to the manifold it pulls itself square by that olive jobbie!
