it will slow the heating up of the oil, because the engine is trying to warm the oil and the cooler is trying to cool it, so it must slow the heating up of the oil down. overcool oil is not a good thing.Quote: Originally posted by Tonys on 13 December 2003
Without the thermostat it just takes a bit longer for the car to warm up. Just means the oil is flowing through it all the time. The oil cooler dosnt really slow the heating of the oil it just stops it getting too hot when running at high temps.
