adi did u get a thermostat for the oil cooler, so oil is only passes through the cooler when it gets to a certain temp?

or is it piped permanently into the oil line, so it is trying to cool already cool/cold oil at startup etc?

Take the bumper, bonnet and rad off? Why? Where have you mounted it?

Just bolt it straight on mate, and find somewhere to mount it.

Without the thermostat it just takes a bit longer for the car to warm up. Just means the oil is flowing through it all the time. The oil cooler dosnt really slow the heating of the oil it just stops it getting too hot when running at high temps.

it will slow the heating up of the oil, because the engine is trying to warm the oil and the cooler is trying to cool it, so it must slow the heating up of the oil down. overcool oil is not a good thing.

if there was a thermostat it wouldnt slow the heating of the oil, it would just stop it getting too hot when running at high temps

i took the bumper off to mount the cooler behind it anyway, took the bonnet and rad out to fit the sandwich plate to the block its a bit of a squeeze plus it was dark and didnt fancy cutting me hands to shreds
