I know Barron has doen it but not seen him on here lately.

How do you fit the fronts if you take out the window mechanism etc...?

Anyone any good at fitting em in teh North West? I'll prob make a hash of it lol!

I presume you'd need to fashion some 'L' shaped brackets to hold the window up on the inside of the door.

I used a nut and bolt in the middle with a big washer, then in used a self tapper in the running rail,I will try and find a pic in our Burpspeed build section.

Yes speak to Paul he is very helpful.

Don't forget you can use 3mm as long as it's not for racing otherwise 4mm is required.

Gonna have a crack at my own cos I'm a pikey and its a cheapo build!!! Found some 3mm sheet at the right price, trying to bend it for the rear could be fun!!

The rear screen weighs a ton! TBH I may have to buy the rear screen off P4P but will have a crack (literally most prob) at shaping some for it using the original as a template first!

Not sure how ours are bolted in because as usual i was not at home when they were done.

As for the Rear screen, we were going to have it made out of 3mm sheet. But it was to difficult to form, because it has curvature across both ways. So we bought the rear screen from P4P.

On another note, our side windows were coated in a special coating, to stop scratches. And it makes a big difference.
Our rear screen has plenty of scratches on it where as the sides are perfect (even the fronts with sliders)

As for weight, the Rear screen is where most of the weight can be saved.

The actual glass of the rear quarters isnt that heavy, the fronts arnt to back either but you can get rid of the mechanisms.

What ever the price is on P4P, I have hardly been involved with the car for the last year, i havent even seen it since August last year :( dont even know if i can get in it any more with the new roll cage.

Carl and my dad have extensive spreadsheets with the costs etc on so carl (barron) is the guy to speak to.

Will PM him then pal, they dont list a price on there for just the rear, only the full kit.

Kev I do not think it's possible to "Pikey" a rear screen, funny shape.

Bazzon, did yours come coated or did you do it afterwards?

Im sure we bought a piece of polycarb that was pre-coated, then we sent this to a contact, whos done them before, cut the windows and make the slides.

(again i will need to confirm this with Carl/Dad)

does anyone know how to remove the rear screen and rear quarters as it isn't in with just a rubber seal???

Personally i wouldnt replace the rear quarter glass for plastic, Im pretty sure like the windscreen they are part of the structual strength of the car which is why they are bonded and not fitted with rubber seals. I could be wrong but it came from a fairly reliable source.

Oh... so not a good idea to swap them? :S we are having a full cage put in though, would that not suffice??
