Fitting Replacement Gear Knob HELP!

As Title
Just got a 172 gear knob from ebay, how do i go about fitting it to my Y reg mk2ph1 1.2?

I know you have to hack it off but does anyone have any more detail to help?

you mean mk2 mate, anyway I thought there was a guide round here some where but I cant find it in the articles..

ohrite, has anyone else got a tutorial sorta thing? or pics of how to do it? or no who has made one?
