Fitting VDO Dayton CD Changer to Tuner List HU Guide??

  Megane
Hi all , am looking for a guide, want to put it under the passenger seat, basically need to know where to run the wire??

Seen a few guides on here, some people run through the centre, some through the carpet, some unscrew dash, some put it in the door seal!?

Where should it go?? Thanks

Two main options really, either run it in the passenger sill up into the dash and across as per the standard install will require you to take the dash top off. Or run it under the carpet against the inside and up into the centre console and into the dash.

Thats the options really, I went for 2 as its easier, quicker and you can't tell any different really.

Its also worth getting the proper mounting bracket to replace the document tray from renault for £7odd.

ah ok, is it a big job doing it under the dash? Is there any benefit? So I lift the lip of the console and tuck it under there?

No real benefit running it across the dash and it'll be harder to put in and harder to take out.

Remove the centre console, poke the cable as far under the carpet under the seat as you can and get out arm down the carpet under where the centre console was and pull the lead through. Then pull all the slack through and tuck it inside the centre console job done. There'll be a load of slack as the cables very long to allow you to boot mount it if you wished.

yep a torx screw driver ( a T20h is what i use) , a flat head (with masking tape on the blad to avoid scratches and imagination is all that really needed to take the interior appart, i done it one day in a car park while i was waiitng to my brother to sit his bus drivers test out of sheer boredome. getting back to gether is the trick but with once you know how renault connect things it pretty simple.( not too many screws mainly clips)
one way i found when i was installing the aux ports in mine and my brother clios there is a lor of room going in fornt of the air bag, like right behind the silver trim in the dash, uou should be able to thread a cable through there.
but if its ti consol, the rasies way i found was to first remove the ash tray, then pul the plastic panel withthe cup holders and lighter, up at the lighter edge then pull it towards the gear stick, i think you should be able to do the job without taking any thing else out but i'm lazy, but the clio is pretty easy to work out.
