Fix problems before I sell car...

Buying a MK2 Renault Laguna soon, so need to sell my MK1 Clio, but them are a few problems I would like to fix first.

The first problem is when the engine revs past 3000 RPM, it makes the most awful whistling noise, easily heard both inside and outside the car. It doesnt always occur, and occasionally it will occur below 3000 RPM. Any suggestions?

Second problem is the infamous humming noise, however I am certain its not a front wheel bearing, as it doesnt change with the direction of the steering wheel, and I had the nearside bearing changed recently anyway.

Third is a ticking like noise that sounds like its coming from behind the fans, only when the engine is running, gets a bit louder with the speed of the engine, I think it might be a belt but have no idea what to check.

Thanks alot for any help in advance. :)

But it could also be a few other things.

They just wear and get noisy, it doesn't really matter, and won't effect anything, just sounds annoying.

Thanks alot for any help in advance. :)

Keep away from most Mk2 lagunas

I'd bet the cambelt/aux belt/tensioners need changing. If its a diesel the turbo going down the pan.

Bottom arms and ARB bushes probably need changing

Most likly the belts and tensioners. Check the carbon caniser though.

Its my parents Laguna, therefore getting very cheap, so can afford some repairs. Its already had all four springs replaced and various other suspension componants go.

Cheers for your help, looks like Clio's wern't meant to go past 100000 miles...
