Flashing immobilizer. Car won't turn over :-@

Basically got into my car to go to the dentist this morning.
Unlocked the car. Jumped, in turned the key to start and all the lights came up like normal. And then the immobilizer light on the dash light starts flashing and the car won't crank over :-s.
Tried my spare key and the same. Still won't turn over !!

It's a 2005 182 btw..

Any one got any ideas?

Long shot but try lightly squeezing the button on the keyfob a tiny bit while you try and start the car

mine did this before, according to hand book it needs leaving alone for four minutes

My old one did this once, unplugged the battery for 10 mins, tried again.

Sorted.

been unlocking the car with a key instead of the thob by any chance?

Have a quick search, theres a few threads about this. Mine was doing this on and off for a while then suddenly it went... i ended up having to get a new key programmed to the car.
