flat spots & engine management light

this morning my 172 was pulling normal untill 3k rpm then just not reving any further for about 2 or 3 seconds then it was pulling fine after that! as if it was in limp mode but with full power before and after it stops accelerating at 3k

it then done it again tonight and the engine management light has came on?

any ideas?

I'm not sure about the engine management light but when my K4M did this it was a leaking MAP sensor.

its a weird one, the flat spot thing only happens maby once or twice then its fine so it must be something sensor related since its only happening sometimes and when its cold? wheres edde? lol

Sounds identical to mine! It would be fine and then if you pull off from a roundabout and let the revs drop it would die and then pick up again. Abit like turbo-lag!
All MAP sensors are the same across the range so swap it and see if it makes a difference.....

when you say the same on all the range does that include the 1.2 16v? ive got a spare engine in my garage from my old 1.2 16v

incase anyone else has this problem, just had it into renault under warranty, it was the upstream 02 sensor, all sorted and working now!
