Carry a spare engine, tow a trailer around with the spare in the trailer just incase there is a problem with the original.Fit it at the roadside or limp in to the nearest garage.Quote: Originally posted by RALLYPUG on 28 April 2004
Would it not be a good idea to buy a spare Conti tyre, not fitted to an alloy, and put it in the wheel holder? This will keep the weight and cost down and if you get a puncture you could have it fitted at the road side or at the nearest tyre place...if you can limp there.
Genius
I dont get this, he obviously cant drive. F1s are amazing in the wet.Quote: Originally posted by h3lter on 28 April 2004

lmao @ him
Yeah thats what I was thinking - changing a wheel is the last thing you want to be doing in some situations, and a can of that stuff would be great even if you do have a spare in the boot.Quote: Originally posted by Funkyjahooner on 28 April 2004
Back to foam cans,i dont know if its becoming common but i think its quite a good idea if you are in the wrong place like a motorway in bad weather or if your tyre is not worth getting repaired or maybe even for older people or pregnant women who might struggle to change a tyre. You can by the cans of foam in Halfords now.Its got to be a lot less hassle than messing about changing to a spare, spray the tyre then go get a replacement done with no mess or messing about. Most cars come with space savers now anyway so it might as well be a can of foam.
I used to like it when the spare was a matching alloy,it was handy as a replacement as well as spare for punctures.
I dont think there is in a 182 mate - they put the exhaust where the well used to be.Quote: Originally posted by RALLYPUG on 28 April 2004
There a well in the boot is there not? Thats where l would put the tyre. Its under the carpet in the boot......at the rear of the car.
No,there is no room because of the twin exhausts. There is no well either which is why the car comes with 2 cans of foam.Quote: Originally posted by RALLYPUG on 28 April 2004
