Flooded road and Clio's

How deep can you safely drive through without sucking water in on a Clio (54 plate specifically) Is it best to crawl through flooded roads? Thanks guys!

are you sat infront of the flood as we speak?? otherwise, find a different route?!

you wont suck water into the engine until youre almost completely underwater,

you will soak some electrics, maybe get water in the car if you seat bungs arnt all in tact, and im not sure how good it is to put cold water straight on a hot exhaust.

Should be fine providing it's not too deep!

Don't go through fast. Keep the revs up.

Makes me mad these sort of things like on the news yesterday about a car being washed away whilst going through a ford why the hell attempt it ffs.

It's in the handbook I think, it says you can drive through up to 4 feet of water but you should stop regularly, get out and check the depth before continuing.

I think this is the most trolled forum ever haha. My handbook says top of trims so, top of alloys and it'd be ok :)

it so isnt :p

personally, id avoid deep water like the plague. the only time ive ever hit deep water i was doing about 50 coming onto a slip road and flew straight over it lol. f**king shat bricks

I saw a better one than that, was some s**theap rally where they literally floated across a huge river. Can't find it now, which is incredibly annoying.

on youtube? ill have a rake around :)

NOS!

I once drove my 172 through water that went over the top of the bonnet. It didn't do any damage but it's not something I'd try again.

I did this friday i think it was, i hit this puddle ( lake ) on the village back roads, didnt notice it untill to late, i was doin 50ish and slammed the brakes on i think the puddle had to be between 1 or 2 ft deep, i didnt have a tape on me at the the time ;)

Me and my mate sh!t ourselves, never hit a puddle that big, never plan on doin it again either. was really paranoid about my car afterwards wonderin if it was all ok .... it is

There's techniques to driving through deep water, You will see a wave form in front of your vehicle, The key is to keep that about a foot infront of your bumper, If you go too quick you catch up with the wave which is the deepest part.

Or just go round a different way.
