I know your setup is "Interesting" so I'm gonna ask why do you want to use studs/nuts?

Providing the studs don't foul the clutch assembly and that they're of adequate strength/grade then they should be fine but why can't you just use bolts? Send me your fag packet sketches you dirty Welsh skank ;)

lol i cba to draw it but basically i was going to bolt a spacer (that it needs) to the engine and have the bolt heads countersunk into the spacer then have protruding studs with the correct bolt pattern to bolt the flywheel to the spacer. giving me the clearance i need without the hassle of protruding bolt heads and threads of 2 diffrent bolt patterns being a little too close for comfort

Should work. But i think you would need to balance the spacer with the crankshaft-flywheel-assembly.

yeah the whole lot will be balanced. i just want to save myself a wedge by doing it this way rather than buy a new flywheel with a custom (renault) crank bolt pattern on it
