fog light problems!

  DUB mk2 golf gti!
fogs have never worked basically! only got round to avin a look last week!me and the old man checked the fuzzes!but 2 be honest none of the pictures corrsponding the fuse make sense!:S then fought bugger that because the light were still not working,so then removed both lights and checked to see if they were juiced up! found there was no power.
so then tracked down where the relays are, under the glove box passenger side, cut to the point basically we took every relay out lol and it only effect the windows and the wypers and probley the abs im guessing! so if any1 could help me now at this stage it would be great! cheers

Their is a fuse for the foglights I can't really think how to describe it but the symbol for you rear fog that comes up on the instrument panel it is a bit like that. Their isn't that many if you can't find it then it will only take ten minutes to go through them all.
If the relay is at fault taking it out won't do anything you would have to test it and their definetly is one on the UCH for the fogs.
Lift of the bit of plastic just behind the steering wheel and look at the wires that go from the indicator stalk I've had one break before or it could also be the stalk itself.
And while your at it their is a connector for the fogs behind the passenger side one that clips onto the horn iirc these can get corroded.
Hope that helps a bit!

Not exactly sure how the stalk works inside but since the rear and front fogs come on seperatly i'm assuming one could go and not the other. Unless it is just some type of resistor like heater controls.
Might be worth checking some of the other things.
