Fog light woes

  Clio 172
The fog lights on my 172 have never worked since I bought it in March this year. Not too concerned about it, as well frankly there isn't any point to them, but at the same time I would like to get them working as I plan to sell the car at some point. When I activate the lights on the stalk I do not get the icon on the dashboard. The car was checked for fault codes last week and nothing came up. I've checked the fuses and everything seems to be fine there too.

Next up on the hit list is the wiring, but I have no idea where to start with this. Does anybody know roughly where the wires run for the foglights? And where any connections are? I managed to find a few wiring diagrams which I could put up, but they are all gibberish to me.

Thanks,
Josh

try/check the relay.
also check to see you have a feed to the fuse when the foglights are turned on.

The relays are the fuses in the engine bay right? I've checked there too, still no luck. So I need a multimeter for the next step and should try and test the cable before the fuse? Thanks for your help :)

relay is different to a fuse. have you checked the fuses on the end of the dash?

Checked the end of the dash fuses too, I reckon it will be a connection somewhere but have no idea where. I'll pop out later with the multimeter and try to follow the wire back from the lights until I get a reading.

I have exactly the same issue on my 182. Dash light comes on, I hear the relay click, but no lights! I have 12v at the fuse box, but 1v getting to the lights :-(

Cleaned the relay under the dashboard, then the connector under the splitter, and the end connectors for the bulbs - now getting 12v and all working :)
