For 182 owners....(and others interested)

  GW Clio 200

All I want owners to do is state "Problems" or "No problems" if they have or havent had any faults since buying there 182.

That way we can get an idea on just how bad the situation is.

Please state the mileage aswell,

Thankyou

.:xTreme:.

took mine back to reno today with a grating/crunching sound as i set off at slow speed sods law it didnt do it when the tech tried it so i looked a tw*t. as soon as i got home it started again. GRRRrrrr:mad: only got the effing thing yesterday.

No probs so far 1380 miles

Ive heard that if you lock them in a garage for 36 months, youll get no problems during the warranty period. :)

Is this TRUE??

Currently we have a ratio of 50/50 that aint fukking good, if it dont get better I will be cancelling tomorrow.

No I thought I was paying for a £15,000 vehicle that would be releable for at least the first thousand miles, for most people on here that does not seem the case.

If this trend continues then I will be cancelling and looking elsewhere, I have had no problems at all with my Cup, I do not want to be giving them a goood little car to recieve a fecking dud!!!

and that is something that I do not want to get used to!!!

Only had mine today and it seems to be finished off better than my 172.

What people still have to remember is that anything that is mass produced can encounter problems.Renault arent the only car manufacturer to have problems with quality it happens to the best of them.

Well on the plus side, my Ragnotti turned 13,000 km today. On the ring. And I did 500 km of damn near flat out driving this morning, 25 laps altogether. No problems at all.

xTreme,

You took a gamble buying a Cup, why were you so sure when buying the Cup, that it wasnt going to be a dud! Its luck of the draw!!

  GW Clio 200

Yeah

I did take the chance on the Cup and I will probably now have to go ahead with the purchase of the fecking 182.

But I only bought the Cup 6 months ago, there were not that many horror stories at all on the forum at that time, maybe because the 182 has just been released we are hearing so mant of their failings.

Dunno just a bit pissed off today with the amount of bad press its getting on this forum, that has nothing to do with peoples comments but everything to do with the 182s lack of reliablity.

Well you know Ive been having problems xTreme but I have to say that I am still amazed by the car and love it to bits!

I know that once I get the gearbox sorted and perhaps a few small niggles, itll well be worth it. When I took it for a drive around the peaks it was breath taking...

All cars nowadays are crap when it comes to nigles, even bmw.Tomclio was on here i think telling us about his dads car having knackered pumps, speakers and so on .It happens to all cars.

The difference will be the way its dealt with.A bmw garage will come and collect your car ,fix the prob, service it,cut and trim your lawn, have the ironing done before you get home and have your tea ready.

Renault on the other hand will try to fix the problem with your bonnet catch by trying to say your brake shoes are worn so they can charge you £80 and dont even offer you a bacon butty.

Thats the difference and thats why people pay 10k more for cars like that so they get looked after, christ they wouldnt lend us a plane to go to the gulf never mind fix a minor prob.

The 182 is gonna be just like the 172 and Cup were, theyre basically all the same cars, built on the same line, by the same people...

.:xTreme:. you know what they are like, so if you were happy with the Cup, why not with a 182?!

i wonder if any of the french sites carry the same lines as us;if anyone can translate it would be good to know if the french cars are ok and ours not.

I have a major problem and issue with this car.

I cant stop looking at the Fcuker.

I cant stop smiling driving it.

I cant stop people stopping me and asking me about it.I was stopped again yesterday in a carpark by some bloke and his (Rather fit) bird asking me about it.

Its the first car ive owned which is a pleasure not a chore to wash, clean wax and make it look the mutts nuts.

I cant stop talking about it.

Fcuking thing ;)

Niggles yes, problems no.Dealership bent over backwards to help me.

I know where your coming from m8, but the genrally most people have had problems of some kind with their 172s. A perfect car with no problems IMO is just not something renault (or indeed any other manufacturer) can provide.

Example, get into the car this morning. Put it into reverse, get out of my drive, into 1st and the gear lever gatior comes away from its mounting leaving all the chassis on display! Luckily for all the numerous problems Ive had with my car my dealer to their credit have sorted everything apart from a persistant rattle.

What I probably should have said in my previous post is that luckily most problems people have are relitively minor. The engine and chassis are IMO f**king phenominal and more than make up for the build quality issues. Obviously with the revised suspension setup and 10 BHP your going to get in the 182 I would advise you too keep it on order. No other car comes close for the money. In a way the constant niggly problems with the 172 add to its quirky yet brilliant character [/jeremy clarkson mode] youd be robbing yourself of a superb car if you cancel m8, I would put that thought right to the back of your mind!

Like I said earlier, I think im just a little pissed about the amount of problems people on here seem to be having, My Cup has been really great for me, I havent had anything go wrong (touch wood), I just dont want the problems that I keep hearing others are having. The percentage of buyers who have had faults to those who havent are a little too high for my liking.... thats a frightening prospect....

Im still going to get my 182 and hopefully have a few years of trouble free motoring. With all due respect to other manufacturers that build hatches there is nothing that comes near Renault for Fun Factor!! It is a class above everything that I have tried CTR GTI180 MCS

Roll on 28/04/04......... I wait with bated breath

Sorry man... I feel partly responsible for making you worry, especially with my shocking post about the problems Ive been having with mine. I think Ive just had some bad luck getting a dodgy gearbox thats all...

Im currently suffering the same conditions as Funky tho. I.e. I cant stop looking at it and it makes me smile each time sit in those lovely leather seats and start it up. Youll be besotted with your 182 in no time... trust me!

In this weeks Auto Express they put the 182 up against the Cooper S and rate the Cooper S above the 182!!

Done 200+ miles today, no problems yet (touch wood) will let you know after w/end, blast down to Thruxton (well, Leisurely drive as I am I run-In mode) then across to Brecon then back upto Wigan Monday, that should hopefully dig out any problems

700+ miles this w/end, only problem upto now, glovebox light not working. Opened it up for 1st time properly today, JEEEEEEEZZZZUSSSSSS :) Came back from Thruxton long way back down A roads via Newtown in mid Wales (visited Bros Mother in Law on way back) Chucked car about with no probs A+++ so far
