Talk about having problems, my f**king gear box is on its way out now,

im still within my 3 month warranty so im going to take it back to carcraft and they can fix it!

my driveshaft popped out the other week and they repair it no problem!
but shouldnt you change the clutch when you change the gearbox

o yeah and the cambelt i have to do...

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
they wont change the clutch unless you pay for the extra labour and part when the box is out.

why whats up with the box?

As ben just said, what's wrong with the gear box ??

Have you got a cooling off period with them for the car ??

Re: For f**ks sake!

i can see your problem here........

CARCRAFT

never ever, ever, ever, ever buy a car from this firm as they never service cars to sell on and there checks are the most ridiculous you will ever see from from a used car dealer.
i know the service manager at the sheffield site.

  Mondeo TXS Bardge.
have you tried bliping the trhottle as you change down it looks like you are tying to force it into a gear when the speeds to high for the revs id you know what i mean.

also check you floor mats arent under your pedals stopping you depressing the clutch fully, i'm gonna need to screw my mats down as they are thick rubber ones but slide gradually under the pedals, and i get dodgy changes as the clutch isnt going in quite far enough.

yep do as he says. Also when was the gearbox oil last changed ??

I agree about the car craft comment too, heard too many bad stories.

Yep the gearboxes/syncros aren't fans of being rammed into a lower gear at high revs, double declutched downshifts are very helpful here.

It should get better as the gearbox oil warms up (mine always have) but this is how the syncros get fecked in the first place so carry on and eventually it will start to crunch.

If you can get a new gearbox out of carcraft (very much doubt it from what i've heard) then go for it though.

Re: For f**ks sake!

im talking about the machanical, engineering side, in the workshop

refer to my previous answer, lol. thats pretty much all they are interested in, making sure you sign on the dotted line. Aftersales+cash buyers arnt of much interest to them, as they dont earn them much money. If you believe your getting looked after well, your lucky. many dont

i had a problem with a leak in my driveshaft. i phoned carcraft and within 32 hours the car was collected via pick up taken, repaired, deliverd back, ensuring we wer happy and have had no problems since
