My mate had a 3.0s black Dave but it handled like a pig the brakes were crap and when you put it in second gear the lever was in the back lol, Suzanne had a black 1.6 LS KVW838Y she called it kit that was the same it felt like you was steering a boat.

lol yeah from what I remember they all handled like crap. I heard stories about people putting sand bags in the boot to weigh to back down lol

They might handle s**t but they look immense.

Huge difference in handling with some knowhow guys. This X pack has an LSD which helps on its own but with poly bushes and a rear axle locating kit, effectively a tie bar, and of course the Bilsteins fitted as part of the X pack the handling is actually very good now....... not scary at all really. Time and tide and all that, age improves the breed. The LSD makes a huge difference and this year when the Torsen diff is fitted to improve yet again I will be like King Dick! Yes its old school handling but bl++dy good fun all the same.

Also most of the uprated race and aftermarket parts for the Mk1/2 Escort will fit a Capri,
so for a few hundred quid you can turn a bog standard shed Capri into something that handles quite well,
relatively speaking.

  A special one.
Hi Alan/colin, being an ex Aston Martin mechanic i love an old car not only did i get to chance to work on some epic Astons i also got the chance to work on a few other classic cars. The odd E type, a 1960 Lotus Elite and a Austin Healey 3000 these where both race cars that the owner used to do the Spa 6hr race in along with other classic racing.
I was never a massive fan of the Capri, more of a MK1/MK2 Escort fan having owned a MK2 Mexico myself. But after seeing your mint example this has now changed my mind, your car is bloody lovley.
I also like your TR6, a guy at my current place of work owns a yellow one that doesn't see the road very often but they do sound great. :approve:

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your super cars. :)

The oselli 3.1 engine and cossie 5 speed box are now in... No pics of the bay yet as there is some final tweeks and setting up to do. But as the car was dusty from the garage doing the work I gave it a nice clean up this morning and grabbed some pics.

Front still needs to come down another inch or so to make it sit better. Few little jobs really but it's very much getting there!

Cant believe eve I missed this it's cracking! Hate to think what a minter like this is worth nowadays!

Holy f**k that's nice. Capris are looking better every time I look at them.

My old man would seriously like that. If I had a pound for every time he mentioned his 3.0 JPS..lol

made me laugh, sounds just like my old man with his lotus cortina when he was a lad! His Merc Diesel Coupe probably is quicker nowadays!

I had the Scimitar GT coupe with an RS 3.1 V6 installed, and that car would even hook up off the line because it had far better rear suspension than the Capri. As for the TR6, mine was a front wheel waggling car out of tight corners but it did have a 200bhp triple Webered motor.
