well to be honest i think its correct it states it comes with a fully modified head which i would imagine is port an polished or what ever? and cams with a remap, i reckon it could be 240bhp il tell you why.. there is a l.a.d motorsport clio 172 cup in my area in other words bought from l.a.d as there demo car, when i bought my clio i had a few problems with it so i rang l.a.d got the info i needed and mentioned that there clio was now round in my area they said all the car has had is the head skimmed and a 182 standard manifold and it made 220bhp (proven) so im guessing a set of cams and the correct mapping it could very well make 240bhp maybe take a couple of bhp??? and to be honest i dont think they would lie about it really i mean whats the point??
the point i am making is that. yes, that engine could produce 240bhp- with several thousand pounds spent on top of buying it, as could a standard engine. that engine will NEVER make 240 with just what has been done to it. i don't see any mention of tb's on that advert, do you?
how much power do you think you can get from cams and headwork? if it was that easy to do then why didn't renault do it? never mind the people who make their living tuning renaults.
as for lad, andy and jonathan who actually do the work are sound, ernie is quite simply a liar.
the car you mention (y100lad?) originally belonged to a good friend of mine, yes it's quick! but it never made 240.
