Freeing the adjusters...

Clean the threa/adjusters as much as you can with a wire brush etc...

Then soak in WD or Pen. Fluid.

Give it a good whack with a hammer on the C-Spanners, carefull you dont start ruining the grooves on the adjusters.

Thanks for the info/advice Has :)

I've currently got them soaking in a WD bath so I wont be attempting to move them untill at least the weekend.

Looking to get some Pen. Fluid also, any ideas where from??

Yeah I've got some copper grease spray which I intend to coat them with once they're free Ben.

Once/if you do free them off coppaslip the threads and locking collars after

Watch out with Copper Grease stuff, seems like a good idea IF you are using protective covers on your coilies, if they are exposed ALL the dirt and grit from the road sticks to the Grease causing them to cake on.

If you can find the stuff FK provide with coilies which does the same as the grease but doesnt attract dirt onto them.

I may have a new can laying about, will see if i can find it.

plus gas is better than wd40

Plus Gas is a good one, so ive heard, never tried myself. There are a few others people have mentioned on here.

Seen someone Duct-Tape the threads on the coilies to stop them getting cacked up, might be worth trying that? Obviously after you've freed them lol

More thinking about between the thread and the collar but good point all the same.

I was going to say that but forgot, as u have said worth doing over the immediate area where the adjusters sit obv :)

Thanks for all the advice guys, will bear it in mind about the copper grease spray.
Where would I buy Plus Gas from, is it automotive or general maintenance?

I may have a new can laying about, will see if i can find it.

Would be excellent if you could, cheers pal :)

Covering the threads seems like a plan, just a bit of a ball ache I guess for if/when you come to adjust them on the car?

Ill have a quick look around for the can later.

Also i would follow this procedure.

1) Clean up the threads/coilies

2) Lubricate them well using WD etc... & apply some Copper Grease only on the immediate area where the adjusters will more then likely sit.

3) Get them on the car and setup, once you have them on the car and setup i doubt you will be adjusting them every so often.

4) Cover up the remaining thread in tape etc to keep them clean, simply "peel" off the tape when you need to adjust them in future.

5) OR buy some coil over protective covers. I had some from Demon Tweeks. Were about £25, but were SO handy in keeping the crap off them.
I had to cut mine up to get a perfect fit tho.

I feel your Pain Da,

Frikin garage have tightn mine to hard my muscles are to weak, must get spinach lol,

hope you get them sorted, mine have been soaked every day in WD, hopefuly should open on the weekend with no problem,

is there some sort ov cover you can get for them ?

I covered my old ones in copper slip, EVERYTHING stuck to it!

I bought some teflon dry push bike chain lube spray stuff, seemed to work better as it sprays on dry.

This the kind of thing you bought Has?

- where and why?

I think the copper grease is sounding like a bad idea, lol! I'll just use it where the adjusters come to rest I feel...

Not exactly...

Theres a piccy of what kidn of thing im on about.

I had to contact Tweeks, its not listed on the site anyone.
I think i spotted it in the catalogue at one stage.

Its basicly a wrap around with velcro on it. I trimmed it up to a perfect fit and was quite snug.
