Freeview boxes? does it matter which one?

Most of them are good, even the cheap boxes.

The Echostar unit that Woolworths sold are excellent and only cost £40

Avoid the cheapest one out of argos, it made a really high pitched whislting noise whenever the plug was switched on so got a matsui for about £30 a year ago, still going strong!!

The ony I got for my parents was very simple and I got that from dixons.

i've got a freeview box that lets you record, not too dissimilar to a skyplus box. Cost about £130. worth every penny

try and get one that takes a card if you have any desire to upgrade and get top up tv channels uk gold etc.

I went for a thomson one as i have a thomson tv and both can be worked from the same remote control.

Mine was 40gig standard (20 hours) but I upgraded it to a 180gig
