probably need an aeriel upgrade, i gots freeview but can't get channel 5, the sky dish is the best option really

I've got a sky dish and a box. I left sky on unfriendly terms though so i doubt they would let me subscribe again. Unfortunatly NTL don't do the HD package in my area.

you dont' need to subscribe to get the freeview channels on sky, just stick your old viewing card in the box, and you get the freeview channels, well you get more than the freeview channels. I presume your new tv has inbuilt freeview ? so the only downside i see from your point of view is having to have the sky box, and the extra controller. my parents got a new panasonic tv with inbuilt freeview, and their are software downloads you get thru the internet to fix channel problems.

Do you know where? I have a sharp so i guess that their website would be a good place to start.

inbuilt freeview on tv's is normally pretty rubbish, most you can't even record without the tv being on and on that particular channel etc. I always use an external freeview box.

Not sure what tv's your referring to but it's been the opposite with some TV's i've seen.

The Inbuilt on My Panny Plasma is even better than my Humax PVR.

Very very good with the decent channels.

Having said that, best to have an external Freview box as well (preferably a PVR) so you can record one/watch another or watch 2 x Freeviews at the same time if you have pip:approve:

Sky Freeview sucks, don't get E4 or any of the 'decent' freeview channels... I only ever watch the main 5, sometimes BBC3, ITV2 for football and Film4 once in a blue moon.

Oh, and Men and Motors.... for all the, uh, cars.

well the panasonic, lets you record a different freeview channel, from what u watch, with the panasonic, you download the firmware, burn it to a cd, insert it in the recorded and goto the menu and select firmware update, not sure how others work, panasonic seem to have the best customer service
