Friends New Cup

A friend of mine recently bought himself a cup like mine so we decided to get a few pics, as you do. He bought it for £2,650, there is a few little niggly things that want sorting and the main thing is that it needs the belts doing so I've pointed him in the right direction to do that, once that's sorted he'll start buying new shiny bits. Since he bought it he's been really excited, I've never seen him this excited since he first started driving tbh, his last car was a Golf GTi and he says it's a definate step up, he also said, it's brought out the inner child inside him, lol. Also for those with keen eyes will notice it's got the RS inlets, which from what I gather is a good thing.

I've clayed, polished and waxed mine last week using some products recommended on here, it's rained a fair bit since then so it's not as shiny as it looked but I'm glad I got it done before FCS and it's the first time since owning the car.

Nice car! Engine bay needs a proper clean. Standard ride height on cups is ridiculous, looks like it´s going to take off and fly straight to the moon.

Both nice cups, your friends just needs that bay cleaning up and a splitter put on.

The engine bay is a bit grubby but nothing that isn't easily fixed. I think someone's had a go at polishing the top part of the inlet plenum at some point but given up right after starting.

Ride height difference is mental!!

Splitter and a polish will have that looking tip top in no time

how on earth have things got that rusty? surely its been left with the bonnet off and rained on?

It's been left for a little while as the previous owner intended on using it as a track car but spent his money on a business instead, not sure how things have got rusty but the engine mounts, suspension top mounts and dampers will be replaced with aftermarket equipment anyway.

Not sure Gaz, the previous owner didn't realise it should have one.

We all know how clean your old cup was, I'm not sure his will ever get that clean, he's not really into detailing, he wants to mod it properly though.
