yeah i been talkin to a friend of mine. and once i gotthe pennys to do it i will be doing so. just need to know if there is gonna be any major problems to over come?

So what happens if his current car is mint.. and its more feasable to do an engine conversion?

Like, I would NEVER sell my car for a Valver.. if I wanted more power, Id do an engine conversion!

I dont see the point in spending a lot of money on a car, just to sell it for a quicker one, when you could make yours quicker!

Just my view anyway.

Daz.

Yeah but weighing up costs it would be sooo much cheaper to get another car. In your case Daz a valver can cost under £3k.

After the engine you have to think suspension, brakes, gearbox, cluch etc and it would still probably be worse than whatever model you were trying to emulate.

Thats what i reckon anyway

It all boils down to attachment!

Some people really love there cars and would never dream of getting rid of all their hard work.

Yup, maybe his car is mint.........or maybe you jsut cant sell a maxed to the tits car for more than 50% than its parkers price. You have a small audience.

The conversion would need more than just the engine, you would need a doner 172 and swap all the running gear, loom, ecu and will go on and on and on.....highly expensive.

I personally woudnt bother, itll never rival a std 172 when its done.

Some people dont want to sell their cars at all.. for one reason or another. I know I wouldnt.

Daz.

I dont see myself ever selling it, no.

Id buy another car (Impreza WRX STi) to park next to it mind.. :)

basicly what it is. if i start with a low end car. and do an engine swap. the insurance comapny are only gonna charge me 160ish quid on the policy (+10%) but they dont like to insure u on a high end car to start with. hence why i was goin forethe conversion. my cainr aint nothing special. 17" bk 236s, 35mil drop spax shocks and springs.. few 100 quid of ice. an n air filter :p

which if about 1600 or 1700 quid fully comp. and 10% to any mods. be it engine, styling, ice etc etc. so it would figure to start with a crap clio and make it in to a good clio :) my m8 is fully capable of doing the work. :) and if he aint i know others that are. the parts shouldnt be any problem. my exs dad owns a breakers yard / smelting plant. :D and i fixed his pc for him more then a few times so i get on well with him, which will work in my favor.

when i said any complications. i was meaning will it fit in there? yeah i know it will probly be tight. and another thing. can i turbo/supercharge it? if im only gonna be charged +10% i might as well make it as f**kin mental as a posibly can :)

You sure its not 10% for minor mods, but if you go OTT they are just going to refuse to insure you?
