How you finding the Msport plus brakes ?

They're ok, but if you're giving it some you need to make sure that first hard brake is HARD or you're not going too quick. General driving they're fine, maybe the occasional time they're keen. I need a decent weathered weekend to have a play with the car to really see what she's capable of, rather than the odd blast between the many roundabouts around Warrington, ha!

Just wondered as I find them really hard to judge when coming to a stop . Not sure if they need a bit more bedding in, if it the efficient dynamics or just to used to the Clio

I don’t know the exact specs but bigger four pots front

Thought they were normal M Sport brakes so I'm guessing they're not standard on all M Sport models (though my mate's 120d has them... Pauper spec nav though, what the person was thinking doing the spec sheet on that one I do not know)

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes they're keen sometimes not so.

Has he just got Blue painted calipers though or 4pots

If I remember rightly the old BMW M Performance brakes were 6 pot fronts (not that it really makes any difference to performance on such a car), just looks more butch!

Think I've missed something chap - aren't all the blue painted calipers (from the factory at least) 4 pot fronts and 2 pot backs ?
I've no clue, I was just assuming on the premis no one would order the brake kit and have the crap nav LOL

Looks lovely mate.

What was the spec of your old car, it's the sort of thing I'd like to buy the wife.

325D was...
3.0l diesel, M Sport, Full Dakota leather (Black), Pro Nav, aux-in, xenons (rare), extended storage, auto with paddles, duel climate, heated seats, manual seats and a few other bits that evade me.
Extras were M3 lip spoiler, Weitec Coilovers, Black line rear lights (genuine BMW), Black kidney grills (genuine BMW), Superchips remap (std: 194hp ~ 400nm > map: 256hp ~ 520nm) and spacers.

Easy to find the spec of a car if you ring BMW, they should print it off for you.

That's some spec mate, no wonder it sold so fast. What was the mileage?

The “plus” is the name of the package.
Which on ours meant you got
19” wheels
Harmon Kardon stereo
M sport braking
Privacy glass
Adaptive LED head lights

Very nice indeed. Since I've been using my Mrs' new Golf Tdi I have a definite appreciation of less rattles and noises that you get with new cars.

What was the E90 like? I really like the look of the 91's but not many petrol options - what's happening with diesels?? Aren't they being phased out?

It was lovely, I loved all 5.75 years I had it. Drove great, really comfortable, long distance cruiser. Only thing that's really stung me with the car was when clutch E decided the give up the ghost because the torque converter was dying and sending little gifts down the shaft to the clutches and it bolloxed the whole thing up. Took it to an automatic transmission specialist in Preston and £1500 later, I had a new torque converter and a reconditioned box. However this is a common thing and theres not much you can do about it, its not if, its when. Though that box is the best box any manufacturer put in, not my words, the words of the guy who fixed it.

So long as they've been looked after, they will look after you.

As for E91's they made them in 320i,330i and 335i, they're just rare as rocking horse sh*t. Diesel wise they're putting the tax up but I'm not sure what the crack is with older cars oppose to newer cars. Only thing I know about vehicle tax now is that anything over £40k is £500 a year, new or second hand.

How’s the car?

Absolutely love it Adam, went out for a proper blast two weekends ago while it was nice. Window open a little bit, the sound is something else. Also, starting to get better mpg not that it’s something you should be aiming for in one of these but it’s important if you’re commuting in it, ha.
