I can't say I've ever benefitted (performance wise) from track spec pads. I've always relied on tight-as-f*ck brake fluid maintainence and fresh kept calipers. As for the heat factor, discs are cheap.

Have you ever tried a set of track pads however? :).

If the car is a pure track car I'd be looking at DS3000s or Mintex M1155s. The DS1.11 I cannot comment on.

Yes, used ds2500 on an endurance circuit in Poland. Ended up switching them out for £20 pads from halfords after they all but disappeared after 35 miles. The halfords pads did the same but they weren't costing me £94 for a set of fronts

That is quite surprising. I have never had M1144s (or heard of DS2500s) wearing quickly, if anything the disc seems get a harder time!

I not had a bad experience with Halfords pads mind you. Bendix pads and Brembo 'OE' discs however have been a joke lately, even on a daily.

I use EBC yellowstuff at my Clio RS 200 EDC for about 3000 km, I think it is ideal both for track and city driving.

Yeah, was a bit of a newbie when I did this and everyone told me I pushed the car too much and hit the brakes too hard. after that I've always just bought cheap pads in bulk.

What's wrong with RC6's Mark? I hve them for trackways and found them faultless... Wear a little quick though
