I have an 04 182 Non-cup with 35K on the clock. It has the typical creaking top mounts on full lock, a front wheel bearing drone (not sure which side), a "wobble" in the steering above 60 (the car tracks straight, but the steering wheel constantly moves left/right around 1cm), and a few clunks and bangs on potholes etc.
So I thought I would give the front end a bit of a refresh, using original parts supplied to my trusted local garage; trackrod ends, ball joints, and replace the one droning bearing (plus new style top mount inserts to cure the creak).
Then I received the prices from Renault!! Thought they would be lower for fairly generic type parts. They've quoted:
Track rod end (os 7701474492 ns 7701474493) £42 each
Bottom ball joint – (os 8200257957 ns 8200257956) £61 each.
Front wheel bearings (7701205779) £58 each
With one bearing that's over £260. So my question is where to find good quality OEM parts? I've found the following:
Bearings:
GSF Premium wheel bearing kit (no make shown) 413RE0021, 37/72/37mm £35.40 each
ECP only seem to do Cup sized by SKF (40/84/38mm) at £57.54 each
Track Rod Ends:
ECP no name (606745270) at £12.90 each
ECP Lemforder (606745275) at £19.80 each
GSF no name (436RE0170) at £10.20 each
Bottom ball joints:
ECP no name (617745220) at £12.90 each
ECP Lemforder (617745225) at £21.90 each
GSF no name (424RE0230) at £12.00 each
GSF no name (424RE0160) at £11.52 each
Any advice from the experts on here (Fred, Dan??) as to which of the above I should avoid, or which are good, or any other sources I should be looking at? I figure Lemforder will be fine for balljoints/track rod ends. Will the GSF "premium" bearing be ok??
Cheers for any help you can give.
