Front heatshield rattle

  SLK 350
Right just coming back down lanes today and i noticed that when i booted it i got this crappy rattle from the front of the car.

Just had it up on the kerb and revved it and it seems its coming from the heatshield directly above the cat. Anybody have any experience of fixing these barstewards?

Also wondering how they are physically attached to the car, are they just bolted, and therefore 1/2 bolts have come loose and need a tightening?

I know its not a hole as i had it up on ramps just last week to fix a hole that had developed at the back bracket, rest of the exhaust was inspected and it was fine, so its this facking shielding.

Cheers guys/gals.

I made mine worse by bending it away from the bodywork and towards the exhaust. Try pushing it away from exhaust.

Its held on with a few screws, i think torx bits are needed.

That's alright then, i got a torx set here.

Its facking annoying, makes the car sound horrible, and its all because some nonse in a Beamer 320 decided to try and race me down the lane; destroyed him, but now pay the price. Think i hit a bump too hard :(

If they are anything like the Ren 5 Turbo the screws will be Torx type and plastic. I suppose Renault do it to save on production overheads Plastic screws are very cheap compared to Metal type init Might be wrong though could be metal screws.

Wouldn't surprise me, well if they're standard size ill replace the plastic shite with some decent self tappers and some loctite!

Will endevour to fix this on saturday, and post up my resolution. Just need to buy some ramps now :(
