Front indicator rules?

Does anyone know what the rules are governing front indicators? Obviously I'd think you must have them (BMW's being the exception to the rule), but are there minimum size requirements? Or in therory could you get away with something like one LED?

why would you not want indicators? if its because of the d=fried eg look then just get some silvatec bulbs, i got some off ebay they were £5 a pair about £13 for 2 pairs inc postage off ebay. makes the light slook alot cleaner.

Bear in mind you need side repeaters if the front indication cannot be seen from the side of the vehicle.

Nothing to do with the fried egg look mate. And I do want indicators! It's just that one of mine has made way for something else
