front light washer leak?

just drove to work this morning and picking something from the office, on my return to the car, i saw a puddle of wash under the front right bumper, the leak is from the front light washer............

has anyone had this problem before?
is it a major problem?
how can it be fixed?

Common problem, i've replaced mine twice.

You need to take the bumper off to change it.

The washer isn't much, it's pretty easy.

I would give it ago yourself or get the washer and take it to your local garage to do.

Before you spend any money try tapping it quite hard with your knuckle a few times. There's a spring loaded rubber seal in it and if you can unstick it the leaking will stop.

i don't wanna see the washer disappearing into the bumper..................

£9 for the part from stealers, my local wanted £98 to supply and fit it, until i started shouting at them

is a common problem though, i thought it was PAS fluid until i saw it was constantly dripping from the washer jet

IF the spring is stuck, you can pop the ball out with a screw driver, then with a small screw driver, unjam the sprung seal. Work the washer a few times to check its ok, and force the ball back in the holder (use silicon to seal around the edge if it leaks)

PS, took the fuse out of my'n so they don't work, and will never leak again.

If your car is under three years old (which I doubt with it being a 172) - Renault will sort it out under warranty.

i tried tapping, then lead to smacking....still leaks....
is over 3 years.............
just done over 32k, so just booked in for service, hopefully they can repair it with no extra........

or i will try screwing it.............

i took it for repair, and it was the pump according to the garage, but is still leaking after it has been just repaired, i will be taking it back again...........

It does both at once.

The wahser ball on the unit leak often there not an ideal design best idea is to superglue them in place when they work otherwsie there prown to poping out.

does the spray keeps spraying when you keep the "washer stick" pulled?

mine just spray and stop, spray and stop, one after the other, look like musical water foundtain!
