front strut brace not fitting under ph1?

is there a difference between ph1 strut braces and ph2 ??

iv got an omp strut brace, trial fitted it and it seems to sit perfectly between the struts, BUT i cant shut the bonnet?????

its hitting the bonnet. anybody else had this problem, what am i doing wrong ???

Yep had that problem on our race car. Grinder to the bonnet and all sorted

damn didnt really want to do that. Do you have any pics of the bit you took out and what it looks like now (the under side of the bonnet)

Imo id bin the strut brace before cutting the bonnet (you wont notice its not there on the road)

Our bonnet was already cut about and its a race car so it dont matter

Does it hit by a lot mate? Does yours have the thread to the right side of the bar so you can tighten it? Try winding it right down and see if it lowers the profile of the brace?

People have these fitted so there has to be a way with out having to chop the bonnet to pieces!

Just get some metal filler and patch the holes up so they are not staring you in the face :rasp: do it from underneath so you can get it nice and level

yea sound proofing is out its the parts that strengthen the bonnet that it hits on

i just gave it another try and theirs no way of it going on without chopping the bonnet


i still dont see how they fit a ph2 perfectly but not the ph1, im sure iv seen ph1 with them ??:S

I've never got mine to shut properly when i trial fitted mine its just sat in my attic waiting! Well annoying!!!
