Front Tyres nearly Bald

  Titanium Clio 182
My front tyres are nearly bald, i can't afford any new ones for the next 1 - 2 months. I;m thinking of getting these when i have the money:

What happens if you get caught with bals tyres.

The tread is still their, but when you place your fingers in the tread and work your way around the tyre there are little raised parts inside the trad and they are nearly level with the outer tread. Once level i think they are bald.

This is what it said on another website mate:

Tread Depth

The legal minimum tread depth for cars and light trailers (including caravans) up to 3500 kgs gross vehicle weight and/or 8 seated passenger vehicles including driver is:

A minimum of 1.6mm in a continuous band throughout the central three-quarters of the tread width, throughout the whole of the circumference (see illustration below).

IMO if your tyres are well worn and below the legal limit you shouldn't just be worried about what happens if you get caught - you should be worried about the fact that it's dangerous for yourself and others. If your tyres are well worn then in the wet you will be fcked especially if you still plan to run them for another couple of months.

The tread is all still their, its just a lot less than the back tyres. Its showing a little wear on the edges of the tyres witht the pattern starting to wear.

These are what i was talking about in the first post along the main tread, the TDI. Once these ar level with the tread then my tyre will be bald, currently its ok, should last another couple of months. I've done 21,000 in my car.
