FTP Questions

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2
Using IIS is there anyway to limit the types of file uploaded. We are giving our users the ability to upload files to the server to share with external resources, like press offices and clients etc.

Is there anyway to limit the file types they can upload to things like jpg, gif, bmp, pdf and doc?

I suddenly imagine a whole load of crap being uploaded onto our server.

Using FTP not as far as I know (Im not good with IIS). The problem would come in determining if a file was the type it claimed.

If you were using a page to upload (ASP etc) you could check the file extension at this point, consider building a page for people to upload/download to. There could also be some library function somewhere to check what a file is?

Just a thought,

Dan
