Fuel cap

I need to remove the fuel filler cap on my 1999 CBOA clio for removal of rust on the 1/4 panel, any ideas how i remove it as there is no obvious way to do this other thn remove the filler neck and cap assembley to see if there are any nuts on the inside that arnt visable, any ideas? thanks

i just put my key in mine, turn it and the cap comes off.

if i remember rightly, there are some screws on the inner bit nearer to the filler Cap which enables the cap and tube that goes into fuel tank to move more freely. if you want the plastic bit around this off, then there are 4 rivets you need to drill out. the bit that rivets onto is actually part of the rear quarter and therefore is metal, the filler Flap comes off with the bit you drill the rivets from.

As per Haynes; fitting is the reverse of removal.
