Fuel filter change 1.6 16v



  1.6 16v clio priv
I have a mk 2 ph 2 1.6 16v clio priv Want to change the fuell filter. The section in the haynes manual is missing (contents referes to section 19 but that is also brake shoe renewal)

Where is it and how do I change it

I bought some bits to service it last summer. never got round to doing the fuel filter and brake shoes. Didnt realise it lasted that long thought im must be about due. Done 56k Now I've got one I might as well fit it though

it does now i know the fuel filter is built into the pump assembly. But it doesnt mention the fuel filter specifically. Not that changing a fuel filter is in any way complicated I just couldnt find the damn thing. My old clio was under the car

mate the one they proberly give you is the ones that go underneath the car by the take if it a cylinder with two connection one either end it wont fit your car mk 2 ph 1 is the only ones with fuel filters outside the tank, if you do take the sender unit out if it got half a tank of fuel in it the tank may go out of shape it will leak.
 
To be fair most cars seem to be on Renault database as having the external filter so the parts guy was probably just following what the computer was telling him.

Of course you can have it for nowt if you collect
