How low does the fuel needle have to go before the fuel light comes on? mine was touching the bottom this morning and still nothing

mine touches the right bottom before coming on.
and the trip computer goes from 40miles to -----

but these are never 100% accurate anyway

Mine usually starts rattling a bit more when the tank is almost empty. I'm serious as well.

My fuel needle is all over the place unless I'm stationary and on a totally level piece of ground. Don't trust the fuel light one bit so try not to go into reserve tank if I can help it.

@ 43 miles left on the range mine illuminates up, but i thought that on my basis that it's been rather optimistic and i have only 23 miles left...although the top gear guys proved differently in there tests on 3x diesels.

Mine gets down to 30 and the ---- comes on. It's noisy as fook too at that point.

I may sound like a tool here, but care? But I noticed the other day on the little petrol pump symbol in the car that the side which your fuel cap is on is the side which on the little symbol the fuel pump dispenser shows. Amazing! I only figured that out because a mate gave me a lift in his work van to get my car.

Am I the only one who does not really care when the light comes on, as I have the sense to fill up before then anyway? Fill up every three weeks, and done. I could probably stretch to a month, but I don't see the point.

Every 3 weeks !!!!!


At least once a week a fill up, if not twice.
