fuel rail guard

can it be removed and still driven around with it off?
also how does it remove,cant find anything in my haynes manual
 
Thanks for the picture, that makes it much clearer which fuel rail guard you're talking about ;)

yes it can, but obviously you're leaving the pipes exposed so try not to crash with it off.
there's 2x10mm nuts in the first 2 holes in the front of the guard. You'll need a 10mm deep socket to get to them as they're in quite a way. Then the guard just pulls towards you and upwards. Make sure the bolts dont fall out when removing it.

Oh, and you'll probably need to remove your engine cover first.
