Fuel Trip computer playing up

Hi keep putting fuel into the car,reset the trip computer and the fuel range is stuck or going crazy,this has never happened before.

What is the issue car had new battery last year and everything else is working ok

Going crazy how? When you first reset it, it will fluctuate quite a lot. It'll take a good few miles for it to stabilise.

keeps saying its got 156 miles then goes to 96 then 106 its not done this before,red light come on other day reset it twice said 46 miles,then reset it again 2 miles.

if in doubt disconnect the battery lol

Keys in the ign, press the end of the stalk and hold, ign on, dials will go through a self test, press the mileage reset button and that should solve it

Bare in mind that range mileage is worked out on current MPG. So if the mpg average has just been reset, this will be jumping around, as will the range.

Done the stalk reset,it was stuck this morning on 96 miles for a good 15 minutes of driving

Maybe there's some fuel missing and it's just noticed now?
