Doesnt look like a full fat at all, no spoilers and silver wheels.

Also, who spends money on all the mods but leaves it completely standard looking. Seems a little odd

"Has been maintained very well by the previous owner."

Apart from the tyres which are mismatched left to right on the same axle. Hello oval racing.

If it's a well cared for example, why are they trying to bin it off on eBay on the quick?

Why not just a bit of honesty?

In what way are they being dishonest ? Other than calling it a Full Fat I don't see anything wrong with their advert . It's still got 9 days and 14 hours left to run . I wouldn't say they were exactly trying to bin it off quick .

Just shows how much they know about Renaults really.

On a serious note, it was probably just listed by the admin person, who doesn't know the finer details.

FF is hardly some official trim designation from Renault.

as this is correct, using the term FF is quite confusing.

Although it started to be used to describe a 182 with both cup packs, it's been changed by 197/200 owners (and ktec it seems) to describe a standard mk3 I.e not a cup.

so 197/200 owners end up with 197/200 ff cups.

which means I have a Renault Clio renaultsport 197 ff cup f1 team r27

realised there mistake now

On 14-Mar-14 at 16:10:25 GMT, seller added the following information:
This car has been listed as a Full Fat but this is a listing error. The car is not a Cup but the standard 182 model and does not have the Cup Chassis or Spoiler pack. It is however fitted with Eibach Pro lowering springs as stated above.

So, this is a full fat, surely? Full fat, full fat with cup packs, cup.

So there is nothing wrong with the advert.

And some want go not show, hence looking standard.

You are the only person I know who calls a 182 a full fat with neither cup packs TBH mate.

Even Ktec have amended the advert now.

Actually , thinking back to the days before 182's . A None cup 172 , i.e. leather , xenons , climate control etc..... were called Full Fats . So really it could be called a Full Fat as it's not the cup version , but it just hasn't got any of the 2 cup packs . I think it was only when the 182's came along that were none cups , leather , xenons etc..... and had the cup packs did we veer away from calling a 182 without the cup packs Full Fats . :S

Can't tell if that's a joke or not?

I'm not sure why it's funny, so go with not.

Full fat 172 is a non cup 172. A 182 without xenons was a cup. With xenons, a cup spoiler/splitter/anthracite alloys was a cup packed. Without the latter three was a full fat.

Perhaps I've been on here too long but that's how we use to decipher what the car was.

I've never heard full fat in relation to a 172 tbh.
Just a cup or not as there are not really any options to "fatten it up with" anyway.

Surly it shouldn't be this hard to work out!!!

172 = Xenons, leathers, standard suspension. Not a Full Fat.
172 cup = No Xenons, No leathers, Cup spoiler, Better cup suspension, decal on B pillar. Not a Full Fat.
172 with Cup style pack = Xenons, leathers, standard suspension, cup spoiler. Not Full Fat
172 with Cup suspension pack = Xenons, leather, cup suspension. Not Full Fat
172 with both optional cup packs = Xenons, Leathers, cup suspension, cup spoiler. Not a Full Fat
182 = Xenons, leathers, standard suspension, twin exhaust. Not Full Fat.
182 Cup = No Xenons, No Leathers, Cup Suspension, Cup Spoiler, twin exhaust. Not Full Fat
182 with Cup style Pack = Xenons, Leathers, Standard suspension, Cup Spoiler, Twin Exhaust. Not Full Fat.
182 with Cup suspension pack = Xenons, Leathers, Cup Suspension, twin exhaust. Not Full Fat
182 With both optional cup packs = Xenons, Leathers, cup suspension, cup spoiler, anthracite wheels, twin exhaust. FULL FAT!

Trophy = Insane mad b*****ds who can afford to spend £1000's on suspension refurbishments at specialists to keep their car special!!
That's my understanding anyway...

Except there were only two 172 ph2 models. Cups and Full Fats. The only other difference were things like Cups with a/c and models with sat nav built in.

Two models:
172
172 cup

never heard them called full fat as we were all used to just calling them 172, then when the cup came out it was known as the 172 cup.
Was no need to say full fat as was either a cup or it wasn't. Was only with 182 that the option of cup packs to fatten it up came along.

I'm afraid you have got it wrong JD

Clio 172.
Clio 172 Cup.
Clio 182. No cup packs.
Clio 182. With cup packs. Aka 'full fat'
Clio 182 Cup.
Clio 182 Trophy.

Full fat is a reference for a standard model 182 with both cup packs. Not just a standard 182 on its own and nothing to do with 172s

I disagree. I'm certain years ago that's how they were categorised on here.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
Full Fat is just a pseudonym used by Renault-sport owners referring to their Clio - it used to be reserved for 182's only but now seems to be thrown at any Clio ( 172 /197/ 200 ) that's got all the trimmings.
