went out last night left my car out side smiths in warrington,, under the light and infront of the bouncers ,,drove home got in my car thismorning and looked in the mirror and there was a key scratch about 50cm long down the side then another about 20cm,, there both very deep,, got a quote today its near a grand! got to colour match the whole side of the car,, why do people do this

A lot of pubs/bars have CCTV on the doors, ask them for a copy. Bit unlikely they will let you have it, but you dont ask you dont get

chips away and other companies can get scratches out, but with the scratching being really quite big and deep i doubt theyd be able to do a perfect job.

however ring them up first, cause theyll give u a free quote and tell you if they can do it or not.

You wont be able to look at the CCTV mate cos the Data Protection Act actually protects scum!! Only the Police and pub owners are allowed to look at it! More Great British Justice!

Yep try chips away or dent master you would be suprised just what they can do dfor not alot of money.

Seen a couple of mint jobs they have done (one on my car) cant tell at all in any light, really worth a call.

just one side need painting? whoever gave you that quotes havin a laugh, shop around, i guarantee youll get it under 400.

actually its against the law for them not to produce it if they have been recording... freedom of information act. but the chances of you actually getting the old bill interested is zero even if you have caught them on video.

I learnt the hard way to with a huge keying all across my boot .. grrrrr

i aint a smart repairer but that looks like a spray job, they could bodge it up somehow like they usually do, but ide say get it feathered out and painted properly unless your selling it soon

Id seriously try fixing that scratch in the picture yourself youll probably be able to completly cover it up with a few hours work.

All you need is some touch up paint model brushes from a modeling shop and a load of polish, effort and time.

to be honest you can have a go yourself, but 99% itll look worse than when you started, you gotta know when you need more paint, how much to flat, when to polish, if its ok for laquer, if its clean, then flat the laquer back, rub that up with g3 without it peeling back, its a proper ballache

final_maxim- very very true i would get a pro BUT dont let them F**K you over! it shouldnt cost more than £200-300 i would think? i hav a mate that does it for me so i dont know proper prices!! mate rates

but if its not too bad you can (just for now) get them special pait pens it the right colour and go over the scratch? just an idea
