Does anyone know if the centre part of the gear knob is removable on a 2006 Renault Mk3 Clio extreme? The bit with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R on it

Do you know how? I tried getting it with a flat head screwdriver and that done nothing
Very thin flathead between the centre itself and the knob. Should be able to squeeze it down and lever it up
