Gaming on a cheap laptop...

Hi I recently bought myself a budget laptop, and now (in another thread) have found out I probably won't be able to play my PS3 in a hotel lol, I was wondering if I can get any games going on it. I seriously don't mind it it's something 10 years old... I used to love Quake 3 & Half Life! But obviously, anything more modern would be great, specifications are as follows:

(CPU1) Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz @ 2533MHz (RAM) 3GB, 1.71GB free (HDDs) 276GB, 224GB free (VGA1) Intel(R) HD Graphics (1.21GB), 1366x768x32, 59Hz (OS) Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Solitaire will run on it, although it could choke up when all the cards spray out

Tried Quake Live? It's basically Q3 but browser based. As you say Half-Life and it's mods should run OK on it. Things like Minecraft are awesome and extremely addictive. As is TrackMania Nations.

If it has an i3 processor then it can't be that bad, anything 4-5 years old should be easily playable!

Aye I might buy Half Life 2 I know that's meant to be wicked and I've never played it... £8.99 for the Orange Box seems a bargain!

Half Life series, painkiller great game and highly rated, unreal tournament, counter strike, if you don't already have it download Steam hundreds of games on there available to download. Command and Conquer never needs a huge spec to run

Greatest online game ever world of warcraft! although i doubt your laptop would run it very well lol.

I had to stop playing it as i was becoming soooo addicted to it, great game though.

The Orange Box got delivered today and it runs fine at high-res, very happy! I done the 'will it run' for C&C games and it says it won't be able to run any of them... did love the original Red Alert though, may chuck that again, hasn't it gone shareware now?

I like 3rd person games, racing games and Tiger Woods as well! Oh and skateboarding but I already have Skate 3 on the PS3.

I know how you feel. I was hardcore about 2 weeks ago.. then one day i was like "ahhhh so much time spent on this game" so ive stopped. used to play rom 6pm up to after midnight every night

You'll easily be able to run Red Alert 2 and Yuri's revenge. Best C&C's available IMO. How you finding Half Life 2? It's my favourite game of all time. Try Portal as well, it's incredible.

I knew about Online I didn't think it was available yet though. Thing is I'm not sure I have wi-fi atm at he hotel... should have but obviously not going to do it on 3G tethering!
