gas Filled Tyres

Some bloke at work was on about haveing his tyres filled with some type of gas - has any body heard of this before and if so what gas, and what benifits does it have - also any idea of costs

its nitrogen as far as i know, it doesnt leak out of the tyres as easy so they stay the same pressure for agesssssss

is that the only benifit though - seems strange to pay for this when most garages offer free air?

I believe its very effective at preventing pressure-loss. Bit useless if you do trackdays, 1/4 miling etc though and you muck about with your pressures a lot.
